Ryerson Women In Law
Ryerson Women in Law is a student-led organization that strives to shatter the legal glass ceiling for women and LGBTQ+ members in law. Through building a strong community that supports and empowers aspiring women and LGBTQ+ members, we hope to encourage students to pursue their dreams, regardless of the historical and systematic gender inequalities that they may face.
We assist women and members of the LGBTQ+ community in their educational and career endeavors through offering practical and relevant programming such as LSAT study tips, information on law schools and the law sector, as well as professional advice. We also host networking events, discussion panels with successful females in law, and advocacy initiatives.
We aim to equip women and members of the LGBTQ+ community with the knowledge, tools, and connections necessary to succeed in a career with clear gender and sex discrimination. RWIL’s objective is to bridge the gender inequality gap that exists for minority groups in law, while also cultivating meaningful relationships between Ryerson faculty, students, and lawyers.
